Harp vs LinkedIn automation tools
Tools such as HeyReach and Expandi automate LinkedIn outreach from the cloud: connection requests, messages and follow-ups that keep running while your laptop is closed. Both now offer MCP servers so an AI assistant can build campaigns. Harp takes a different route on two counts: where the LinkedIn activity runs, and how much of the outbound loop it covers.
The short answer
If you need LinkedIn running around the clock, across many accounts, from any operating system, a cloud LinkedIn tool is built for that. If you want LinkedIn to run from your own browser and machine, at human pace, as one channel in an outbound loop your AI agent runs end to end, Harp is built for that.
Side by side
| Topic | Harp | Cloud LinkedIn tools |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | The MCP harness for pipeline generation: research, email, LinkedIn and replies in one loop your agent drives | LinkedIn automation platforms; Expandi also runs email steps, HeyReach connects to email tools through integrations |
| Where LinkedIn runs | Your real Chrome on your Mac, in your own session, driven at the OS level like a person | In the cloud: Expandi lists a dedicated country-based IP per account; HeyReach lists a dedicated residential proxy per sender |
| Computer on? | Yes: your Mac with Chrome, inside the working hours you set | No: campaigns keep running in the cloud |
| LinkedIn accounts | One account per Mac | Built for many: HeyReach rotates sends across multiple senders and targets agencies |
| Pace and limits | Click navigation, human mouse and typing, per-action daily limits that vary day to day, a four-week warm-up, pause on repeated errors | Daily limits; Expandi lists automatic warm-up and daily limit ranges |
| Before sending | Checks it is on the right person’s profile; if it cannot confirm, it does not send | Check each vendor |
| AI agents | Built for the agent: research saved with evidence, sequences, and replies your agent answers within minutes | Both offer an MCP server so an assistant can build lists and campaigns; Expandi drafts replies for your approval |
| Your Google Workspace mailbox in the same sequence, paced and timed to the recipient | Expandi: email steps in the same sequence; HeyReach: through integrations with email sending tools | |
| Platform | Mac only for LinkedIn today | Any operating system |
| Buying | Flat subscription after a short call | Public self-serve plans with a trial: Expandi from $99 a month, HeyReach from $79 per sender a month |
Where the activity comes from
Cloud LinkedIn tools run your account from their servers, through an IP address or proxy assigned to you. That is what lets them work around the clock and across many accounts.
Harp keeps LinkedIn where it already is: your real Chrome, your normal session, on your own Mac. It moves the mouse and types at the operating-system level, the way you do, with no browser extension and no code injected into LinkedIn’s pages. The trade-off is honest: your Mac has to be on, and Harp works inside the hours you set.
Right person or no send
A connection request or message to the wrong person cannot be taken back. Before Harp sends either, it checks that the page is the intended person’s profile. If it cannot confirm that, it does not send and reports why.
One channel in a bigger loop
In Harp, LinkedIn is a step in the same sequence as email. Your agent researches the account and saves its answers with evidence, Harp runs the sequence across both channels, and a reply on either one stops it. Email replies are answered by your agent within minutes; LinkedIn replies wait for your yes in Slack.
No tool can guarantee LinkedIn will never restrict an account. Harp is built to keep activity at human volumes and patterns. How to automate LinkedIn without putting your account at risk explains the practices behind it.

Questions
Does Harp run LinkedIn in the cloud?
No. Harp runs LinkedIn from your real Chrome on your own Mac, inside the working hours you set. Your Mac needs to be on while it works.
Can Harp run several LinkedIn accounts?
Each Mac runs one LinkedIn account. Harp is built for a person or team running their own outbound, not for rotating many sender accounts.
Do HeyReach and Expandi work with AI agents?
Both list an MCP server that lets an AI assistant build lists and campaigns. Harp is built around the agent for the whole loop: research memory, sequences across email and LinkedIn, and reply handling.
